Suddenly flipping from the overflowing sink to face his imaginary audience, Maki holds up the "loot" up with gusto.
"Tada! It's the amazing DishWashing Chronicles of Maki and Taro--ow!"
An argument will follow. Trust me on this one.
Originally from Cafe Kichijouji De, which is a wonderful comedy manga series, Maki and Taro are seen here scrubbing (or at least supposed to be) the last of the cafe's dishes...
This was meant to be a rough cover art, if you will, for a fan-fiction a dear friend of mine is working on. If you wish to read it and all it's beautiful glory, click here: [link] 'cause it's really sweet. I plan to draw and screentone some panel-by-panel pages for this fanfiction sometime this summer, too; time permitting, of course.
If you've never read the official manga, please do.
This baby took me about... eleven hours. Whew!
Which means, I would LOVE discovering a great comment 'round here reminding me it wasn't for nothing!
After starting at it for a few moments, it aroused a horrifying memory from my dark dishwashing days.
Wanna hear? PAH too bad I'm going to type it any way
I used to dishwash and there was some flirty girl waitress who seemed to take a big interest in me, but because I had absolutely no interest in her she seemed to want to go to great lengths to try to catch my attention. It escalated more and more, from asking overtly sexual questions to throwing food in my glorious hair.
I told her not to do that, no, I WARNED her not to do that again. In a gigglish act of boorish defiance, picked up a glass of ice cold water and splashed me with it (but now that I think of it, I honestly think she thought that glass was empty).
I proceeded to reach for the nearest thing I could grab, which happened to be a bottle of chocolate syrup, and blasted her with it. Her face, hair, clothes, every thing was covered in chocolate. Luckily every body in the kitchen liked me, or I would have probably gotten fired that day 9_9
Your picture portrays dishwashing much more entertaining than I can draw from memory. Thanks for the trippy flashback!
Yay! It's up! I love how you did the water coming off the dish Taro's hitting Maki with. Really gives the appearance that it was just yanked out of the water.
